Disable Blog

Product: Admin Framework Pro

The Disable Blog module removes all blogging features from WordPress, including posts, categories, tags, comments, and feeds. It’s perfect for business websites, e-commerce stores, or CMS-only setups where a blog isn’t required—keeping your site clean, secure, and focused.

How to use

To enable the Disable Blog Module:

  1. Click on the “Security” category
  2. Search or scroll to locate the Disable Blog Module
  3. Click on the switch to enable

What’s next?

This module completely removes blog functionality from your WordPress installation, including posts, comments, and related features. After enabling:

1. Set a Static Homepage (Required)

The module requires a static homepage to be set. If not already configured:

  1. Go to Settings > Reading
  2. Under “Your homepage displays”, select “A static page”
  3. Choose a page to be your homepage
  4. Save changes

2. What’s Disabled

Once activated, the module will:

Admin Area

  • Remove the “Posts” menu and all related submenus
  • Remove blog-related widgets from the dashboard
  • Hide blog-related options in the admin interface

Front-end

  • Redirect all blog-related pages to your homepage, including:
    • Blog posts
    • Categories
    • Tags
    • Author archives
    • Date-based archives

Core Functionality

  • Disable the default “post” post type
  • Remove categories and tags taxonomies
  • Disable comments and trackbacks
  • Remove feed links from the site header

3. Customization

The module provides several filters for customization:

Modify which post type arguments are removed:

add_filter('WPMazic/disable-blog/post_type_arguments', function($args) {
    // Add or remove arguments as needed
    return $args;
});

Customize redirects for specific pages:

add_filter('WPMazic/disable-blog/redirect_post', function($redirect_url) {
    // Return a custom URL or false to prevent redirection
    return $redirect_url;
});

Modify which blocks are disabled in the block editor:

add_filter('WPMazic/disable-blog/post_blocks', function($blocks) {
    // Add or remove block types
    return $blocks;
});

Important Notes:

  • This module is irreversible through the admin interface – you’ll need to deactivate it to restore blog functionality
  • Existing posts will remain in the database but won’t be accessible
  • Consider backing up your site before enabling this module
  • Some themes may require additional adjustments to fully remove blog-related elements

This module is ideal for:

  • Business websites that don’t need a blog
  • E-commerce sites using WordPress as a CMS
  • Any site where blog functionality isn’t required
