Media Replace

The Media Replace module lets you seamlessly replace existing files in your WordPress Media Library without breaking links. By keeping the same URL, metadata, and relationships, you can update images, PDFs, or documents sitewide in just a few clicks.

How to use

To enable the Media Replace Module:

1. Click on the “Images & Media” category
2. Search or scroll to locate the Media Replace Module
3. Click on the switch to enable

This module adds a “Media Replace” option to your media items, allowing you to:

• Replace files while maintaining the same URL and metadata
• Update images across your site without broken links
• Access the replacement option from:
  • The media library actions menu
  • The attachment edit screen sidebar
  • The WordPress admin bar when viewing attachments

The replacement process is simple:

1. Click “Media Replace” on any media item
2. Upload your new file
3. The original file will be replaced while keeping all existing references intact

This is particularly useful for updating images, PDFs, or other media files without having to update links or references throughout your site.
