The Hide WP Version module improves WordPress security by removing version numbers from your site’s source code, scripts, and feeds. By hiding the WordPress version, you make it harder for attackers to target known vulnerabilities and reduce your site’s exposure to automated scans.
How to use
To enable the Hide WP Version Module:
- Click on the “Security” category
- Search or scroll to locate the Hide WP Version Module
- Click on the switch to enable

This module automatically removes the WordPress version number from your site’s HTML source code and RSS feeds. This helps improve your site’s security by making it slightly harder for potential attackers to identify which version of WordPress you’re using.
Once enabled, the module will:
- Remove the WordPress version from the
<meta>tag in your site’s<head>section - Remove the version parameter from CSS and JavaScript files
- Remove the version number from RSS feeds
No additional configuration is needed – the module works immediately after activation.
